📢 Del Rio Elementary – 2025 Reward School

Dear Del Rio Elementary Families and Community,

We are proud to share wonderful news: Del Rio Elementary has been recognized by the State of Tennessee as a Reward School. This honor reflects our students’ outstanding academic achievement and the significant progress they have made over the past year.

A Reward School is the highest designation a school can receive under Tennessee’s accountability system. To earn this distinction, schools must meet rigorous criteria, including:

  • Achieving an overall accountability score of 3.1 or higher on a 4‑point scale.
  • Demonstrating strong student achievement on state assessments (TCAP).
  • Showing measurable student growth through value‑added progress.
  • Reducing chronic absenteeism.
  • Supporting growth in English Language Proficiency (ELPA).
  • Avoiding identification as a low‑performing school under federal designations.

This recognition places our school among those schools celebrated statewide as examples of excellence. In 2024–25, only 459 schools across Tennessee earned Reward status, making this achievement especially meaningful.

For our families, this designation signals that our school is excelling academically, supporting student growth, and fostering strong attendance. For our educators, it validates the effective teaching practices, intervention strategies, and school‑wide supports that make success possible. And for our community, it highlights Del Rio Elementary as a model of pride and collaboration.

We are deeply grateful for the hard work and determination of our students, whose commitment to learning inspires us every day. We celebrate the dedication and passion of our teachers and staff, who go above and beyond to create a supportive and engaging environment for all learners. We sincerely thank our families for their encouragement, involvement, and partnership, which strengthens the connection between home and school. And we recognize the community of Del Rio, whose support and pride in our school provide the foundation for our success. This achievement truly belongs to all of us, and together we will continue to build on this momentum to ensure every child thrives.
